Some of the lessons from Astronomy and Birds use binoculars, so we offer our kits three ways:

1

With 8x21 Tasco binoculars
Choose these for quality, clarity and magnification. See Details

With 5x50 children’s binoculars
Choose these if the most important thing is for young children to pick them up and be able to use them without any special skill. See Details

Without binoculars
Choose this option if you already have binoculars that you are comfortable letting your children use.

ABOUT THESE BINOCS These are the least expensive of the 8x binoculars manufactured by Bushnell. They are real binoculars in every sense. These are considered toy binoculars, but they are the best toy binoculars we have found, and very easy to use.
MAGNIFICATION 8x gives you that "right in your lap" feeling when you look at nearby birds. The moon is startling in all its detail and the Pleiades reveal many more stars than you can see with the naked eye. 5x is sufficient for doing the lessons in our kits. Objects appear noticeably larger and reveal detail you cannot see with the naked eye.
BRIGHTNESS 21 mm objective lens is a bit small. This means objects will appear slightly less bright with the unaided eye. 50 mm objective lens can gather more light, so object appears significantly brighter with more pronounced colors than you see with the naked eye.
CLARITY Fully coated glass lenses and roof prism provide top notch image quality. Plastic lenses allow some distortion around the edges, as well as chromatic aberration (stray colors).
FIELD OF VIEW 383 ft/1000 yds 337 ft/1000 yds
BODY Rubber armor covering for durability and easy grip. Rubber eye shields.
Compact: 3.5" x 2.5" x 1.5" when folded
Bright colored plastic: red, yellow or blue. Size: 6" x 5" x 2.5"
MORE Built in neck strap
Carrying case that can be worn on belt
Clip-on neck strap
