PICTURES IN THE STARS

Long ago, people made up pictures to go with the stars. It took a lot of imagination, because most of the star groups don't look much like what they are named, but it gave us a way to keep track of the stars. We call these star groups CONSTELLATIONS.

URSA MAJOR

The ancients thought it was a bear. It contains the Big Dipper. Can you see either?
